“OUR BUSINESS IS PEOPLE”
One of the many challenges we face in our industry (and
our state) today is development of skilled individuals to fill the future
demand for professional employees.
To this end, the University of Southern Maine School of Business is
partnering with Maine’s insurance community to create an insurance
degree program. This program will confer a bachelor of science in business
administration with a major in insurance.
Our industry needs to raise $640,000 to fund the first four years of
the program, after which USM will sustain it. The first offering of the
program will begin with the fall semester in 2008.
Patrons has pledged $20,000 to this important effort, and several other
companies and agencies have also committed support.
We believe this program is an essential ingredient to the continued
professionalism of our industry in Maine, and we encourage all our industry
partners to help make this happen!
Pledges are payable over four years, and no contribution is too small!
This is an investment in the future and the need is real.
To get involved, give me a call, and I can direct you to the industry
contacts.
Thanks.
